Chapter: On the Road Again

<Back>

(Khaznad, Sparkle, Mute, Dwarf, Dastardlyx (in body, not spirit)

On the trip Khaznad is having a severe after effect to his wound, and is having trouble eating food as it hurts so much he keeps puking it out, which hurts even more. He spends most of the trip laying in a pile of blankets in a wagon, barely awake.

The others later tell him that they've been traveling from Green Hills to Berdusk, from there through Scornubel, Elturel and finally to Baldur's Gate. Along the way they've talked more with Leozin and discovered that the raiders are a cult worshiping dragons, which didn't come as a big surprise, and that they've have hidden everything they've stolen in crates, and is transporting them with a caravan to the north. Leozin wants us to join the caravan any way we can, and see where they're talking this. They also introduce him to a new adventurer that they've picked up again, Khaznad can't help but wonder where did they pick him up, the side of the road?

By the time Khaznad has finally recovered and can walk again, they're trying to join the caravan. Khaznad hearing that the caravan is heading to Neverwinter to rebuild the trade way to the old town, decides to ask to join helping to build the road, as he thinks that sounds interesting. But instead he is hired as a guard, and he is disappointed, but at least it should get him where Leozin said he needed to be.

Before leaving the others goes shopping, Khaznad can't figure out what that is, but he is still too worn out to care or ask.

Chapter: And the Road Goes On

(Khaznad, Sparkle, Mute, Dwarf, Dastardlyx (in body, not spirit)

The trip is pretty boring, Khaznad doesn't even get to stand guard duty much, seems like everyone is so afraid of him that no one causes any trouble, Khaznad is both relieved and slightly disappointed by this.

At one point the caravan is ambushed by four lizardfolk, but Khaznad explains to them how outnumbered and overpowered they are, and they retreat peacefully.

On the last day of travel some of the cultists accuse Dastardlyx of having killed one of theirs. Khaznad can't remember that, but he's been out sick for a while, so sounds plausible. He explains to the cultists that knowing Dastardlyx, if they don't stop bothering him there will be more dead cultists, this seems to end things peacefully, Khaznad is glad that it is possible to reason with humans now and then.
